I'd say that both the Wii U and the Switch are pretty poor designs. But I agree, some of the games are great.

I'd be measuring the output of the power supply when the machine fails to boot. This must be done whilst connected to the computer (measuring with no load is pointless).

1. Yes. But you'd be better off with a 3.1.4 rom to avoid the reboots caused by softkicking the updates.

2. Probably. But it's always better to start fresh with a new OS.

I'd forget about the Amiga for this type of game. Get yourself a Megadrive and the Streets of Rage series.

Double Dragon II on the NES is also brilliant.

The only problem with most of these devices (including the one linked to in this thread) is that they convert the 50hz signal to 60hz. This will result in jerky scrolling.

Whilst that mod MAY reduce the flicker in interlaced modes, it's no replacement for a scandoubler. It certainly won't make the Amiga output a 31khz signal.

No they wouldn't. Those games only used the Adlib emulation of the Sound Blaster. They did not output any digital samples.

Should be able to find a simple text-only mod player that will work.

The difference is, the Megadrive was not designed as a PC add-on. The Mega PC was designed as a PC which could play Megadrive games and it was released several years after the Megadrive.

Really? Turrican 2 and 3 didn't push the hardware to it's limits? Factor 5 were absolute masters of the Amiga. I have no doubt those two games would have run at 25fps if coded by anyone else.
