The irony is, if the Amiga designers had designed the copper chip to be able to reload the colour registers every 1 pixel instead of the 8 it could do.....theres your chunky mode right there in 1985!

Whether there is enough room for hiscore save is another matter, but looking into it ;)

The data itself will fit, i've just done a quick calculation and compressing the intro file and game code file, the ingame files are $63020 in size, and yes it uses a lookup table which is located...

Having seen modern efforts, I think the Amstrad CPC464 got REALLY and properly short changed during its lifetime, more so than the Amiga and its ST ports.

Better off if you're obsessed with all things Neo Geo, is to do something like Viewpoint, simpler game and can be graphically changed so no copyright issues.
