I've seen it referenced in at least two contempary magazines that a special A1200 version of Wing Commander with 256 colors (or whichever it was) was to be released.

Wing Commander turns 30 (PC)

September 26, 1990 saw the release of the first Wing Commander game for the PC.
The Amiga people (like me) had to wait until early 1993 for our turn. :)
