Afaik, PCMCIA is still dead under 3.1 ROM when using an 8Mb expansion card.
Unless anyone knows a fix for your card, (I think it's a Generic dis-order with 8Mb Expansions) it's 4Mb MAX with PCMCIA...

It may still be worthwhile chatting to Stephen and asking if the IDE is in Sync or out of Sync. Guessing it is in Sync as there is only one timing X-Tal on the board but I'm not the guy...

If you're using 16 x 16Mb SIMM's & they're only showing as 16Mb in total, it's only recognising each 16Mb Simm as 1Mb.
