I think he is more likely refering to the ability...

I think he is more likely refering to the ability to install the OS and choose Kickstard from within the Accelorator - an ability the ACA500/ACA500+ devices have. I dont see much use for this on 1200...

if its like the riser on my A604 and indivision ecs the are just pushed over the pins on the pcb so just by a new riser strip and slide the old one off and new one on - no solder required!

hate to point out the obvious but is your 1200 recapped? one of my 600's with failed caps had such a flakey Pcmcia slot it was working 2 in every 10 attempts... then the rest of the system failed!...

Id advise against a actual harddisk drive in a CD32 as I have noticed the bay where th TF330 goes gets quiet warm in use.. a drive there would only make this worse.

Id bet on bad caps - I am on my 3rd A600 and all the ones that had cap issues had wierd stuff going on with audio as well as with behaviour in general! get it recapped!

There is another way you could do this - I am not sure of the finer details but the TF330 has a ESP header that as far as I am aware exposes the CD32 Aux serial lines - so maybe look into wireless...

I had the same issue with my TF330 and its CF card - most workbench things worked ok, but WHDLoad games would just crash nearly all the time! it turns out one of the CF card partitions had the wrong...
