Great technical achievement, but at the cost of hardly being able to work out what is going on half the time. I ended up focusing on dodging the bullets instead of being able to aim at the bad guys....

That is not a real issue. It is trivial to stop the music by using the appropriate instruction (Music Off, Track Stop or Med Off) in Direct Mode.

Personally, I like the ability to listen to music...
