Nothing except tiles. I used a different disk t+2 to go straight to level 9. You need to get that disk and look at level 19. The HOL map explains stuff that is wrong.

Try adding an extra ,0 after the loadbitmap line...

Try adding an extra ,0 after the loadbitmap line and wherever savebitmap is used. This ensures a correct palette instead of pot luck. The program worked for me even before doing anything else.

I think the elevator shaft is the true exit. Screen fades out as if preparing to load a cut scene or new level. The one near the exit signs abruptly quits.

It's always good to hear from Amiga programmers from days gone by. The maps were made using program called Maptapper. There is a small section describing it on this board.
