Yes, you can fit the 2.04 ROM just fine. Which revision is your 1500's motherboard? 4.x will usually need the 1-31 jumper for a 2.04 mask ROM.

EPROMs need more jumpers/bent legs.

So do you have WB2.1 disks? HDToolBox on the install disk can do it for you. You'd need the disk set anyway to reinstall it after formatting the partitions.

I don't see why it would care what memory expansion you have occupying the Z2 address space.

The only thing you need to take care about is, don't plug in any PCMCIA memory cards.. Only IO devices...
