Yes, but only because the ST is using its CPU to make the YM sound chip output digi sound. The C64/spectrum/Amstrad CPC can do this also! Neither the ST or C64 have true digital sound chips.

The ST actually runs at 8MHz, but the C64 could still shift graphics around the screen much faster/smoother with less effort than the ST!...
