Uses hi-res for the upper and lower part of the screen and lo-res for thze middle.I just noticed the HOL screenshots are taken in complete lo-res, makes them look terrible.

GetSCSI11 (http://aminet.net/package/util/boot/GetSCSI11) claims to be able to extract and patch scsi.device to make it usable for Kickstart 1.x. You need to boot from floppy then.

What exactly do you mean by does not boot up....
What exactly do you mean by does not boot up. Does the drive spin up. Can you see/hear accesses to the disk and then the purple screen?
A purple screen suggests a ROM error (or resident modules)....
