PLA is plenty strong and prints really well, but it is not as UV or heat tolerant as ABS or PETG. If you are planning to paint the parts its not as much of a concern with the UV. To print ABS well...

I can get a 32gb microSD card for under £4 which is overkill.

So around £40ish is possible.
