The "S"-letter indicates that the monitor is equipped with 2 speakers.. S for Stereo u know.. 1084 without S is a monospeaker monitor..

The PCB shows severe corrosion on the copper traces under the protective lacquer.. So cleaning it won't help.. I don't remember right off the bat if A500+ mobo is a multilayer PCB, but soldering...
