1) Uses 512KiB of chipram
2) Uses the MMU so you can't use it for anything else

It effectively doubles the price of the RAM but at approx £1/chip for SOJ 20-pin 1Mx4 DRAM (so £8 total for 4 chips inc adapters) it's hardly bank busting.
