When I played Barbarian as a kid we always pulled out NES style controllers. Only for this one game.

The other option is SKick, which will work on most machines but doesn't use the MMU (patches the ROM so only works with certain ROMs).

Looking at the 68000 pinouts most of the GND/VCC pins are opposite to address pins (which is probably OK) but pins 16 & 49 (GND & VCC) are opposite each other. That's not good.
