HAM8 is not really useful for anything other than static images. You can do anything in 24-bit SVGA, and it's so much faster it's not funny. No comparison.

Backing off the screen pot on the flyback should remove the retrace lines.

You could either make a converter box or retro-fit the board inside the stick.
