Kilo universally means 1000 of a lower unit.
In IT we always meant 1024 because everything is usually base 2 or base 16.
Except for... hard disk marketing people...

What I did was I always put every "system oriented" file on HD0: and I did have a separate partition for actual software that was not "system oriented"....

(also has some 32 bit registers which makes it more like a hybrid 16/24/32 bit CPU)
