I got my DOS laptop for free... fixed it and all good. DOS sound drivers are excellent. Works very well and actually has run everything I've thrown at it.

Any recommendations to 'test' it further?

Be careful... some games eg Aladdin need EMS but others will only run if memory doesn't exceed certain level and you need app to 'eat' the free memory for games to run.
