Any value less than 0x201ff should work. Anything bigger will trigger the problem. (If drive does not support old ATA-1 spec)

And remove the FAT partition using Disk Management before using it in WinUAE. Windows may get confused when someone corrupts the FAT partion :)

(and you most likely need magic command line...

Amiga built-in IDE controller's transfer speed limit is about ~3MB/s. For faster speeds you need different HD controller, CF or another HD won't make it faster.
