Amiga's Ctrl-A-A is a hardware reset controlled iirc by the keyboard mpu.
So it needs to be emulated or it won't work.

I had limited success with SanDisk CF cards. While two cards did work, i could never make the slave one automount, always needed to bring it back with HdToolBox (and i have no clue why).
