As far as I know, you have to roll your own 3.9 Roms.

You could also run 3.1.4 as a lot of things have been updated. No need for the reboot dance.

Swap the original fan with a noctua fan and it will be pretty quiet.

Some people suggest replacing the capacitors while you're in there but I'm not sure if this actually helps with power stability...

I guess it depends on what you want to do! Pretty sure games like quake require an FPU , as would a lot of 060 demos. But if you can live without that then there's no issue.

You'll only need gamepads with more buttons if you get an AGA machine and run CD32 whdload titles that utilise the extra buttons.
