The blizzard is everyone's first choice...I'm more than happy with my ACA 1231/42 though..no timing fixes on my 1D1 and it makes my A500 fly when linked to the ACA500.

In WB 3.1 my ACA500/ACA 1231 shows the full amount of ram and the speed isn't too far off my A1200 with the same card.

I can't bear going back to a stock A1200 after just having an 030/42..the 64MB of ram is a godsend for OS3.9 and everything is just snappier...and frontier is quicker

I primarily use my A500/ACA500 for playing games...

I primarily use my A500/ACA500 for playing games from floppy (I do have a complete 3,1 WB install on CF though).

For WHDLoad I use my A1200/ACA1231 with a CF HDD as it is far more convenient

Never owned a cpc, a friend had one (6128) and I remember Cauldron being much better on the cpc than the C64.

I went from a ZX81 to a Speccy which was a huge jump but was envious of my mates C64...

A1200 problem

Just tried to fire my spare A1200 up and keep getting a software guru as soon as I put a disk in (doesn't matter if it's a floppy or hard drive).

I replaced the 3.1 Roms in this machine for 3.0...

I haven't connected my ACA1231 up yet but on it's own workbench 3.1 feels quite snappyw
