I haven't bothered to read all of this thread but I think some people are getting way too hung up on compatibility. Even real Amiga HW models aren't really that compatible with each other, esp....

Yep sure, I always used the same code for my RTG games. I used the CyberGFX API to get a pointer to the video bitmap and then did a blit (memcpy) straight into it with my game's graphics....
