I'm not sure if we're talking about the same vertical bands/lines, but you get those if you're using VGA output, but also have DVI enabled. So whenever you use VGA output, don't use the "VGA & DVI"...

At least all the libaries, commands, etc that I have needed, have worked under MorphOS without problems. So it seems that this kind of stuff mostly behaves well and doesn't hit hardware.
