Yeah, I have a copy that claimed it to be English/German, but when you actually play the game, it's German. Bummer...I hear it's a cool game.

Mad TV
I do remember it was planned to be released on the amiga in UK at one time. From memory, I think rainbow arts might have ran into trouble shortly before it was released though. I wonder if it was released on the ST in english?

MAD TV conversion
You're welcome to have a go mate! hehe
Although it has been known actually, remember 20,000 leagues under the sea. It's a pity actually that people haven't tried to translate some of the foreign titles out there for the amiga. On the snes emulation scene, quite a few roms have been translated including games like final fantasy 6, which was previously japanese only, but nobody seems to have done it really on the amiga. It's a shame because there's some great german titles out there. I tried at one point to get some interest in doing this sort of thing, but the projects that got started seemed to dwindle away quite fast unfortunately. One of the main problem was lack of information about how exactly to go about it because there was obviously a lot of issues to overcome before translations could even start. Oh well never mind! |

Talking about 20000 leagues under the sea... I requested the French version of that game a while ago, but noone seems to have it.
Strange huh? I got a German (official) version, an English version (translated from the French by Ackerlight), and a Dutch version (translated from the French too, by Guild of Thieves I think). A mate of mine has a Spanish version, probably translated from the French too for all I know. It's a great mystery to me that a non-translated, all French version of this game is nowhere to be found!

I have the original French version (cracked by Ackerlight), but not the Dutch one! Somebody post the Dutch version! When I get home this evening, maybe the upload issue will be fixed. Or better yet, I may just try posting it from work!

Anyone here remember the old Flashback Xmas release of 1992, about 9 months before it came out in the magazines and shops (Amiga Format even said something along the lines of "stop sending in tips for this game since it hasn't been released yet!"). I assume someone nicked the disk from the developers or something.
Some dude translated from French to English simply by hex editing the file - luckily the English text is almost always shorter than the French or German equivalents so it's not too hard (if you are a fluent speaker and can understand it of course!) I never did get the final release of this game to check how accurately it was translated but I thought it was a pretty amazing job for the time! (This was based on the Interpol crack btw). Anyone know of any other manual translation jobs? |

Yes, the BTTR list ist quite extensive, but is missing a lot of games. I hope the Abīme.net list will fill in a few gaps

Mad TV is actually a very easy game if you have the basics figured out
And don't worry, the second part is total crap - you're not missing anything.
