Jail Break and Mikie
I used to play Jail Break and Mikie on my C64. Jail Break was a game where you have to run through the levels shooting prisoners, whereas Mikie, you have to collect hearts to reveal the secret word and the exit door opens, while you avoid some of the school staff.
Did any of these games exist on the Amiga? |

Konami's Jailbreak isn't converted to Amiga. Konami has never produced a game for Amiga. I am not sure about Mikie by Imagine. I think Arkanoid is the first game Imagine produced for Amiga.

According to BTTR, Konami actually converted 6 games to the Amiga:
Batman's Return, Blades of Steel, Castlevania, Double Dribble, Nascar Challenge, SuperC. |

Now that's news for me!
![]() From your list I only recognise Batman Returns, which was programmed by Denton Designs for Gametek if I am correct. I have never seen the other games on Amiga. |

It's true. Those are all Amiga games. Most, I believe, are US releases. Nascar Challenge is more commonly known by its full title, Bill Elliot's Nascar Challenge.
Allegedly, there is also Ajax, but I haven't actually seen it myself. Other games with the Konami logo attached are Back To The Future Part II, Back To The Future Part III, Frontier - Elite II, The Killing Cloud, Gods, Plan 9 From Outer Space, Predator, Predator 2, Spacewrecked, Speedball 2, Team Suzuki, TMNT, TMHT, Theme Park Mystery, and Utopia. Most of those are just US publisher credits, but their brandname has certainly appeared on Amiga product quite a bit. |

I haven't seen Nascar Challenge and the other American-specific titles before. I am curious how they look like.. *Hint to see some double-barreled screenshots*
It seems Konami has imported quite a lot titles from European publishers like Gremlin and Imageworks to Amiga. I just wished they would also have converted some games of their vast arcade-library. Seeing games like Nemesis and Simpsons Arcade Game on Amiga would be awesome.

I have a game in my collection named as Jailbreak. I'm not sure if it's the one you want.
I'll upload it asap!

I suspect the game you have might be an Arkanoid clone by a company called Odyssey. I hope I'm wrong though

Remember, Gods and Speedball 2 was developed by the Bitmap Brothers.
Tim, Simpsons Arcade Game was never released on the Amiga, but it was released for the PC and C64. I know that this game was made for these two systems, unless there is a Mac version. Exodus |

As no one mentioned that, both Jailbreak and Mikie are original arcade games from Konami, and you can try the original ones with MAME.
Konami undoubtly is one of the greatest publisher/developers ever in games history, but they also are one of the biggest bitches in the games industy, seeing their respect with the users is ZERO... |

Thanks for providing the screenshots of the games, Twistin.
I have never seen the games on Amiga before. -It is great to know the Amiga catalogue is much larger than I expected. From the games I vaguely know Castlevania from the NES. The sports games look okay and Super C looks like a great Double Dragon-clone to me. What puzzles me is why Konami has never bothered publishing these games in Europe. There was certainly a market for it. |

It's a shame that most of these conversions are far worse than the Nintendo originals. With a machine like the amiga, i think they could have done a lot better!

No idea why they weren't published in Europe -- I never knew this until this thread. Super C really has little in common with Double Dragon, it's the sequel to Contra (the 'C' in the name), if you've ever played that game (I know it from the NES version, which I played endlessly in the old days). I've not played Super C in ages, but I think I remember it being decent shoot-em-up fare, if a bit shallow (but pretty). Frankly, just talking about it makes me want to dig it up again to refresh my memory! Perhaps later.
Double Dribble didn't much impress me, as it was just too bland for the Amiga (both it and Blades Of Steel looked and played too NES for me, so both scored a thumbs down in my book). Maybe I'd like them better now, but I doubt it. Castlevania I can't even remember, but I think I liked it. None of these I have looked at since they were released. BTW: I am neither a fan of hockey nor basketball, but my co-sysop back then was an avid fan of both sports. He also thought BoS and DD were shite (although he preferred BoS between the two), so there's opinions from two different camps. As for Bill Elliot's NASCAR Challenge, another thumbs down from me because the only 3D racer I ever liked was Stunt Car Racer. |
