Good demo that
Yeah I had it a while ago and lost it, found again, pretty good demo, bit dated, but still worthy of a good watch

I tried watching a PC demo (several of them...prize winners, even!) back in 1995 and was so appalled that I never looked again. A wretched mess. But that's another story...
So what is it about this demo that is so unique? |

Honestly, nothing. It has a MP3 of an Anastasia (animated film) song while crudely rendered "dolls" dance, and a "Babes in Toyland" segment afterwards.
The whole point behind a demo is that it should push the technological capabilities of a given machine. Nothing I have seen on the IBM has done this (aside from 3DMARK, which is a tool, not a demo). The problem with IBM demos are that they go for style above all else, and yet rarely reach the style on an Amiga 1 meg demo, or even a C64 64k demo (Cafe Odd comes to mind). If you want to see what I mean, it (Toys) is available on the Root. Might be good for a chuckle. |
