Indeed, no reason for making trouble in the ranks - things are running smoothly and should stay that way

Hmmmm, something is wrong.... I can't see what I'm uploading to the server. Anything after file 9.998 is not visible.

I tried to delete some files (just to see what would happen) but the file list still shows 9,998 files in the folder - no matter if I delete or upload.... 9.998 strange.

Upload is now stopped until this has been sorted...

this should be a restriction of FTP. You could split your folder into several sub-folder:
ADF (0-F)
ADF (G-M)
ADF (N-T)
ADF (U-Z)

Splitting the files is not an option as it won't be original as I got it (*.zip or *.rar compressing could, on the other hand, be an option). And it seems like the FTP has an upload limit ... 60 Kb/s upload isn't much, when 40+ Gb is on its way to the server. I also got the TOSEC Amiga ISO files, I wonder if there is any space left for others. We'll have to see

It would be really nice, if the upload limit could be around 1 Mb/s

really see no problem to split by letters.
my unzipped TOSEC Games release is also splitted by letters on my local HD, because of faster folder access

Firstly, thanks for your support.

There is a limit of FTP (not the Server but protocol's itself). In this case the limit is 10,000 (9,998 files and the two special directories: "." and ".."). SFTP has no limit but, unfortunately our hosting provider do allow it for only Master FTP Account.

All of your uploaded files (last one is Journey r30 (1989)(Infocom).zip 125 KB) to server are still in there except your deleted ones for testing. If you split them by letters you can upload all of them. And please do not forget to compare.

By the way, there is no any upload limit on server side.

Cheers,
Magix

Well, i can't get more that 60 kb/s. It would be desirable if others can test whether this is correct.

The idea to split into subfolders doesn't appeals to me, I would prefer to pack in rar instead.

Also, it would be really nice if someone could post a list of unwanted files, like: ACP, Workbench, ect ect

Hi!

First of all many thanks for all that stuff!

But regarding the Commodore C64 game files I recognized, that some of the archives are incomplete.

The PRG archive ends at "N" (NOMAD)
The t64 archive ends at "K" (KYB)
The D64 archive ends at "M" (MW4)

I think that this is caused by the limitation of having not more than 9998 files in one folder.

Is it possible that you upload the missing files of the above archives?
(you could create a folder named PRG2 etc.)

What do you think?

I think 'someone' should test the upload speed, before I start uploading more stuff.

It would be really nice if someone colud help out with the unwanted files, like: ACP, Workbench, SPS (folders with that name?), ect ect

I.Did, as an alternate way of sharing, why wouldn't you point some of us towards where and/or how you found and grabbed these TOSEC packs in the first place?

I didn't find the appropriate torrents myself yet, and I'm totally unfamiliar with Usenet, newsgroups and how to use them (I'd love some enlightenment about this too BTW if anyone as time and courage to provide some tutos... ).

I'm looking for TOSEC and TOSEC ISO, both of which you seem to have collected already, right?

In any case thanks for your help! Hopefully this infos will prove helpful to many more than just me here (and I'm sure it will ^_-).

Thanks for reminding me Dave!
