Graphics For Mark Jones

Is anybody able to rip the sprites from games that Mark Jones (http://www.mjonesgraphics.com) worked on?

e.g. Darkmere, Cybernoid II, Rubicon, and Stormlord

Thanks for the help! I'm currently frellancing and the Mobile Market is taking off. Trouble is most of the producers are about 20 and have never heard of my games, so I need to send samples. My Amiga pixel work would work perfectly in this respect, but my Amiga is in the UK, I'm in the US, and my back-ups are on floppies in the UK, if they still exist at all.

Thanks very much. Darkmere was my favourite Amiga game that I worked on.

Thanks! Rubicon never got much press as it was in limbo for so long (and so was my cheque!) as Hewson went under, and it took a while for 21st Century to come about. Actually 21st Century WAS Hewson, but all the money was in Mrs' Hewson's name instead of MR. Hewson! LOL

Working on that now, and that's another reason I would like the graphics. I'd like to add a lot more detail to the Amiga game than I have at present. Some of the pages look a bit sparse.

I'm updating pages everyday at present, so if I haven't updated a page from your particular favourite game, give it a week or so and I'll get to to it.

I never played Darkmere but the graphics look really great. I like the style. I'm quite interested in graphics. What tools did you use? Deluxe paint? And what tools do you use now?

You're better sticking with pro-motion or similar really these days, ocp is a tad dated now ... there are several packages out there, I think there is one called neo paint too .. not sure tho' as i mostly use Max or Maya or good ol' pencil n paper ... I'm sure there'll be people in here that will think of more suitable package these days ... remember its the artist that makes the pics, not the packages, but good packages help

Mark, I'm not sure if we ever met, I was at Core with Rolf who did the dragonstone box art so our paths might have crossed, I seem to remember there was some dark times for you lot during one of those games too ... if you know what i mean

I still use Animator Pro for my pixel work. I HATED that program for about a year until I was fluent in it. Still do a lot of my sprite work with it.

I was in and out at Core for a bit. I popped up to Derby every few weeks on Darkmere and Dragonstone. So, yes I probably did meet you, although it's all a bit blurry now! LOL. In prefered the Dragonstone box to the Darkmere one. Nice dragon! Always like a good dragon...

Thanks! Dragonstone was the last game I worked on before going "State side", and to be honest I was still sending work over once I was relocated so at the end of it all I kinda lost track of where the game went. I've got a bunch of stuff in a wierd format knocking around on a CD somewhere. I'll take a look and see if it has the maps. Can't promise anything though.

I love Pro-motion and Grafx2 and I also use 3d programs a lot, but I'd love to try some oldies. So my question is still: Where can I get OCP Art Studio?

Well, all i can think of is get Mark to dig out his copy, the port wasn't a commercial thing, Sean Dunleavy ported it for in house use while at core back in the late 80s

good luck
