Apparently backing this project caused my CC to become blocked as the transaction was flagged as suspicious.. But at least I was able to get it reopened after calling them and answering a few questions. :)

Well to be fair it is suspicious that anyone would spend that kind of money on a plastic case from a worthless computer from the 80’s, but that’s what makes us so special I guess :-)

I also backed it :)

Gonna have to get a few of these cases for my aging A500s :). Now if only they would make new fronts for the A4000D i would be a happy camper.

I would eventually like to see new A600 cases since the clips on them are infamous for breaking.

I had the same problem. I used a 2nd CC from a different bank and it went straight through. 10 minutes later I got a text saying 2 suspect transactions from the original bank....I replied confirming they were true...and received a reply that I could now complete the transaction....a bit too late.

Seems unusual a bank would block a transaction from a large platform like Indiegogo...not like they are brand new on the scene.

Any particular reason they moved from Kickstarter to Indiegogo?

Read the FAQ at the bottom of https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/n...iga-500-plus#/.
They link to Indiegogo's own comparison here.

Will they be doing something about the clip that holds in the motherboard? that seems to be most temperamental part of Amiga 500 cases.

amenophis 06 April 2018 14:10

Hi Guys,

Phil here from A1200NET Team.

Thanks for supporting the campaign.
We need all Amigans on this ;)

To answer @Mick;

- Absolutely No more plastic clips on the A500 case!
- Replaced by Metal screw shreeds and Metal Inserts.
- Same way we did for the New Amiga 1200 cases.

Cheers

I think he's talking about the L-shaped clip that holds the motherboard in place along the bottom?
It can be seen here just below RAM chip #5:

You sometimes need to flex the bottom base to get the motherboard in and out of that clip. I don't find it a major hassle, but I've often wondered why it even needed to be there since the two bottom screws holds the motherboard in place already.

amenophis 06 April 2018 18:33

Oh ok,

My bad.

So simple answer is: What L-shaped clip? :D

Thanks for your support guys,
Phil

1 Attachment(s)
Well, it's an upside-down L. Here's a closeup.

Lord Aga 06 April 2018 19:38

Why not "1" clip :)

Sure, you can call it that.

That was a joke ;)
Meaning this is stripped out. No more. Nada. Bye bye ;)

Thank you for your support guys, the team needs all Amigans so that we can get molds for Amiga 500 cases.

Cheers,
Phil

Already supported for 2 cases! I hope that we'll get into the tank mouse cases, too...!!!!

- NEWS UPDATE -

► NO MORE STRETCH GOAL ON EXTRA COLORS! (Removed) ◄ :)

VISIT HERE

https://c1.iggcdn.com/indiegogo-medi...dwxz2p7lvo.jpg

Today the Team would like to share with you an awesome news.
- No more Stretch goals for Extra Colors!

- Here what happened, and why we had a Stretch Goal first hand:

Producing very small QTY in any given color is costly, due to the color change fee that any manufacturer charge you with.
Small QTY like the PINK A1200 cases for instance.

– Reminder: A1200 case colors were chosen by Amigans through two polls the team ran back in the days.

Following A1200 case production, our partner informed us he couldn't operate the A500 case production under the same condition we agreed on the A1200 cases. This led us to create the Color Stretch goal you saw at campaign launch.

For each color change through production, there is a color change fee.

These includes:
  • Removing molds from Injection
  • Cleaning of each molds & cleaning injection system
  • Molds re-install, setup & calibration for next production.

This operation can take up to two days.

The team has been in discussion with manufacturer since end of A1200 case production (for backers).

Yesterday evening we ultimately found an understanding with our partner, and they agreed to proceed under the same conditions than production of the A1200 case, but this time for the A500 case.
  1. - ALL COLORS are back within standard Campaign Goal.
  2. - TANK MOUSE Shells Stretch Goal has been Adjusted!

The team is very glad to share this awesome update with you guys 😉

Thank you for your support.

Like for the A1200 cases, we need all Amigans on this to create new molds for Amiga 500 cases.

Cheers,
Phil
