<winuae directory>Amiga Programs/ahidriver.zip (0.8.22R1 or newer)

Make sure you select UAE-driver from AHI-preferences program, not Paula-drivers.

AHI driver for WinUAE: File placement

I am new to WinUAE emulation and would like to know exactly where to place the files for the AHI Driver. I installed WinUAE v22r5 and tried placing the AHI files where the text file that came with it stated, but that did'nt work -- so I placed the .info files in System:devs/ and the uae and uae.audio in System:devs/AHI/ to no avail. I also tried placing the ahi.info file in System:devs/ and the uae, uae.audio, and audiomodes.info in the System:devs/AHI/ directory to no avail. Where EXACTLY does each of the following file belong?!

ahi.info -->System:devs/________???
audiomodes.info --> System:devs/________???
uae --> System:devs/________???
uae.audio --> System:devs/________???

Any help with this AHI question would be greatly appreciated. P.S. System:devs in the text above is representative of the System: drive in the Devs drawer. but we know that a colon followed by a capitalized letter d ends up being a :D smiley face.

First you need to install the AHI package as it comes with OS3.9 or get it from Aminet. Mainly you need ahi.device in Devs: and two new directories Devs:AHI and Devs:Audiomodes.

Then copy uae to Devs:Audiomodes and uae.audio to Devs:AHI. You can ignore the .info files.

Now reboot and use AHI prefs to set an audio mode for each AHI unit.

AmigaOS version and AHI under WinUAE

Thank you thomas, but I only have AmigaOS 3.1 (40.63) and Workbench 3.1 (40.42)! Can someone tell me if I still can use AHI under WinUAE v22r5? Thank you.

Please read again. Quote: or get it from Aminet

http://uk.aminet.net/aminetbin/find?ahiusr

It's even newer than the OS3.9 version.

Thank y'all...

Thank you again thomas, I did find it on Aminet. :D I'd like to know if AHI functions with AmigaOS 3.1 (40.63) and Workbench 3.1 (40.42). As I originally stated: "I am new to WinUAE emulation." Uh... no sarcasm or anything intended, but I really am new to this (IT'S FUN!) -- and I haven't used (my dead) A500+ in so long..... and I've moved..... and the where are the books again so-and-so?..... etc. ;) Really I appreciate the help a great deal.

There is one very useful feature of Aminet: every archive has a readme file that tells you the requirements before you even download the archive.

Quote from ahiusr.readme:

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

AmigaOS release 2.
MC68020 processor or better.

All Set then.

Oh, that I didn't d/l. Oops. Thanks again thomas. I'm all set now (at least with this issue). :)
