Can't add to the games list

Hi All,

Just trying (for the first time) to set up WHDLoad on a CF card with CWB already installed.
As best as I can tell everything is set up correctly, my games are stored on the DH1 partition and in Dopus I can see them all on DH1.
When I go to the 'Add Files' program for games it just says "Please insert volume 'A-Games' in any drive".

I have changed the Start-up assign file to this.

Assign >NIL: A-Demos: DH1:Demos
Assign >NIL: A-Games: DH1:Games
Assign >NIL: A-MyFiles: SYS:MyFiles
Assign >NIL: A-Programs: SYS:Programs
Assign >NIL: A-Temp: SYS:Temp

Is there something I've missed?

Thanks,
Ross

Edit, oops, probably should have posted this in project.WHDLoad

Anyone? Please, just a little hint :crying

what does it happen when you type in a shell " A-Games: " ?

Same thing, "Please insert volume 'A-Games' in any drive"

So it is clear that the assign that you put in your start-up file isn't read.
What about the others assigns?

Have you tried to write in a shell first:

Assign >NIL: A-Games: DH1:Games

and then:

A-Games:

If you omit the redirection " >NIL: " you could read possible error messages

Where is that controlled? Or I should say, why would that file be getting ignored during startup?

Any that do not reference DH1 seem to be fine.

Assign A-Games: DH1:Games
Results in- "Can't Find DH1:Games"

Here is a screen shot from Dopus showing my DH1 as 'Games'.

Ok,
I think that I understand.

Your DH1: label is Games so your assign in order to work should be only:

Assign >NIL: A-Games: DH1:

or

Assign >NIL: A-Games: Games:

Try that and let me know.

Your command doesn't work because you are trying to assign to A-Games a non existent folder "DH1:Games"

Thank you so much, that fixed the problem.
I was just following a YouTube video on setting it all up, I guess I did it too exact.
