Super GameBase in the works (SNES)

My thread at GB64.

http://img66.imageshack.us/img66/219...viewvu0.th.pnghttp://img66.imageshack.us/images/thpix.gif

I decided to make my own project for SNES as the one already made is based on the badSNES set.
I'm using the No-Intro set, the best set available and best suited for a project like this as the games all have the same CRC as all games have the headers removed.
All music is from SNESmusic.org using the naming scheme from the dat file available there.
English fan translations are added as extras to the original japanese games as I don't like to clog up the game list with hacked games.

Status so far:
  • 911 games with screenshots
  • 689 games linked with music
  • 40 games linked with an unofficial english translation

Nice idea Retroplay :agree :great
Do you plan to support more fan translations like french or german for example? ;) Do you release a beta?

Why? The SNES emus patches the roms in real time with IPS, the original roms are untouched/unmodified.

No need to, Belgarath & Co is doing a great job with GameBase Amiga. :D

No problem matey, i have my own Gamebase setup for SNES games. Good luck for your project. There are a lot of games to add. :)

Is the screenshot size fixed in GB? Seems like your screens are scaled badly. (Plus, the list is pretty simple, I'd rather see big screens than a lot of empty space between the game name and publisher.

Yes it is. However you can adjust the width of the columns as you want to.

Retro-Nerd 01 October 2008 16:59

Yes, you need x200 in height or the text in screenshots is unreadable. This is an old Gamebase limitation.

You can still open them in the original size with a doubleclick. Would be a really nice feature for GB 1.3 to have that resizable :agree

Retroplay 01 October 2008 17:40

Is there any app that can batch x2 point resize the screenshots ?

TCD 01 October 2008 17:47

Try this one Retroplay : http://www.fotosizer.com/

Retroplay 01 October 2008 17:56

It's just stretching the image making it look ugly and blurry. :(
Thanks anyway. :)
Apparently a point image resizer is not easy to find.

Retroplay 01 October 2008 18:10

I thought that nearest neighbour and point resizing where the same thing?

In which case something like xnview will do fine.

Belgarath 01 October 2008 18:31

Remember there's also GameBasePlayer which is a replacement for the GameBase frontend and doesn't have the 320x200 limitation.
