AmigaWriter Help . . .

I recently puchased AmigaWriter from "Extreme Computing" (http://www.extreme-computing.com). I received the software friday (11/15) and immediately installed it. The first time I ran it, it asked for a serial number that was supposed to be on the registration card -- only problem is -- there wasn't one in the box. The only thing in the box were the install cd & a manual (in German). I emailed Extreme Computing for help and their response so far has been to tell me that the software was "new" and that the card should be in the box. I've emailed them again, but am not hopeful. I also emailed Haage-Partner, but haven't gotten a response back.

I can live without registering the software, but it would be NICE if I could at least RUN it! Does anyone here have a serial number that they'd be willing to share? I swear that this is legitimate -- like I said I have the CD & manual, so maybe I can verify first something from them that would prove I telling the truth.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: AmigaWriter . . .

I received another e-mail from Extreme Computing today saying that would try to help me-- so maybe it'll work out okay.

Just in case, my request for a serial number still stands, though.

Thanks.

P.S. Just out of curiosity, why is signing a post considered "spamming" (per the rules)? I don't get it.

Everyone has a set of preferences they can configure. If people want to attach a signature to their messages then this can be done using their personal preferences.

In this way, if people *don't* want to see other people's signatures, then they can activate that option in their personal preferences too.

However, if people don't use their preferences to attach a signature and type it in manually at the end of each message, then others are forced to see it whether they want to or not.

BTW hope you have some luck with Extreme. It's almost unforgivable that you didn't get a warranty card with a serial number! :rolleyes

AmigaWriter Followup . . .

Okay, I officially give up. It's been over a month since I last heard from Extreme Computing and Haage Partner NEVER replied. I guess I'll just stick with FinalWriter 97!

What a waste of time and money.

Thanks for listening.
