Hard drive errors when copying files on

Just suddenly started getting errors when copying files on to my games partition (DH1) partition is just under 4gb ,checksum errors and being write protected etc

The games on there appear to work ok i just cant seem to add any more.
Im using pfs3/aio , are there any programs that can scan/repair this , or am i going to have to format the partition ? :(

any help appreciated thanks, never had this problem before.

In the PFS3 archive are tools that might help. If you don't have a backup then its backup time now. :)

only 2 files in the pfs3aio archive, tried 1 util called SFSDoctor but it wont even run , just says unable to open your tool etc
At a bit of a loss tbh

You need the CLI/Shell only pfsdoctor

I will put it in the zone,

to use it just open a shell window ,navigate to the pfsdoctor file then use the command `pfsdoctor REPAIR DH0` this will check and repair DH0, obviously for other VOLUMEs just substitute DH0, for DH1, DH2, DH3, ect or whatever your volumes are named

Thanks Supaduper , think i must be doing something wrong here though, opened up a shell and browsed to it

and typed pfsdoctor REPAIR DH1

and it just says file not an executable
any ideas ?

supaduper 18 December 2019 23:01

so you browsed to the pfsdoctor cli only folder then type `LIST` it will show the executable in the folder then try it again

silly question but you have unzipped the file I sent ?

Wierd, so just to confirm some things, you are using `toni`s pfs3-aio , and you trying to do this on a real Amiga or Winuae ?

xubidoo 18 December 2019 23:13

xubidoo 18 December 2019 23:18

What you need is http://aminet.net/package/disk/misc/PFS3_53 That is mentioned in http://aminet.net/package/disk/misc/pfs3aio:
Quote:

Read official PFS3 package documentation before using!
(disk/misc/PFS3_53.lha)
Btw. you mean PFSdoctor. SFSDoctor does not exist. SFS would be a different filesystem. PFSdoctor has a GUI. Use the option "Check" before "Repair" (having a backup is a good idea).

On Amiga the error message "unable to open your tool" usually means that the file isn't an executable or the executable bit is not set (as already mentioned in this thread. Command protect).
