Amiga games you want to enjoy life by finishing (then die)

I was just thinking about my old gaming days on the Amiga and how many games I loved but how many of them I actually never finished. To get started here's a few games at the top of my list:
It Came From The Desert - awesome graphics, music, atmosphere, gameplay but I never figured out how to finish it.
Rocket Ranger - I loved this and tried so hard to finish this but never could stop the Nazis.
Gauntlet 2 - a couple of times me and my brother played this in shifts tying to finish it but we always ended up getting stuck somewhere we couldn't get out of.
Did you finish any of these games? And what games did you want to finish but never have?

What a horribly morbid topic :(

Adropac2 12 February 2010 04:38

Exactly what i was about to comment with

Especially worse for me as i'm typing this at 3 oclock in the morning and that's always the most depressing time isn't it

Yes i don't really relish the thought of dieing much and despite knowing it's going to happen at some point, i don't like being reminded

Not that i'm slamming this but i probably would have otherwise contributed differently to the topic so maybe change it if you want any real replies

I don't plan on dying, I have too much unfinished work, and many unfinished games.

Its a well known turn of phrase - well not the amiga bit, but didnt strike me as being particularly morbid or depressing.
For me:-
Syndicate
Dune
(and a sneaky off topic one Streets of rage on megadrive - always get killed by the penultimate boss on final level.)

Gold of Aztecs, Baal, Zone Warrior

Stab Master 12 February 2010 11:16

OK, thanks for your input guys, I edited the title into something more upbeat!

And just thought of another BIG one: Interceptor! Never could sink that enemy carrier.
I never played Zone Warrior, I'll have to check it out.

davideo 12 February 2010 11:19

I'd like the time to finish them all before I die :D

Dave G :cool

seuden 12 February 2010 11:21

I miss the old title name :(

Stab Master 12 February 2010 11:23

seuden: OK I added another little addendum :p

seuden 12 February 2010 11:28

Haha, thanks Stab Master.

Btw, I'd like to complete Dune II fully with all the houses.

Murders In Space . Great graphic adventure of the "murders" series (there was also "Murders In Venice", which I wanna take a look at some day... and some others for 8 bit computers like Murder On The Atlantic which I got a copy recently at ebay for Amstrad CPC with the most outstanding number of feelies I ever saw in a game of its kind!).

They were all about resolving crimes (in a transatlantic ship, in Venice, in a sapce shuttle...). Murders In Space was one of the first graphic advs I played and I got a lot of good memories from it.

One of then is also about late night hours beeing depressing. I had spent most of the night trying to discover who the murderer was... but failed miserably, and he began to serial killing all of the crew members in the shuttle. At some point their lifeless bodies were floating due to low gravity all around the place. A couple of hours just before dawn that was both depressing... and creepy!

And the case remains officially "unresolved", I mean, I never could reach the "good" ending of the game. I knew who the bad guy was and knew how to unmask him... but couldn't do it. In order to have the option to reach the dialogue in which evrything happens I needed to read a private mailbox and to gain access to it I had to type a password. I knew which the password was... but could never actually type it cause just one stupid character was wrongly keyboard-mapped in the spanish floppy edition.

I tried everything. Playing in another language, even hacking the game with an hex editor to change the pass, but nothing worked ^_^'

...but I'll send this evil-doer to jail some day!!!

well I'm going to die eventually, but I have word from Fred the Fop that he'll resurrect me as a zombie so I can at least finish all the mindless games released nowadays.

Im not sure about the amiga version but wasnt the arcade Gauntlet quite litterally an infinite number of levels as once you got past a certain level it just picked them randomly.

Predseda 12 February 2010 12:39

seuden 12 February 2010 12:39

Damn me for not reading the first word in the title.

OK, I tried ST version of Zone Warrior (Amiga version is not trained and I hate flames from nowhere) but this version have poor, generated music in intro and in game, also no sound fx.
