Another great heads up by Solo Kazuki is the MS-DOS first person shooter ' Shadow Warrior ', which is being ported over to the Amiga by Modern Vintage Gamer. Originally developed by 3D Realms and published by GT Interactive back in 1997, Shadow Warrior had an improved engine from the one used in Duke Nukem 3D and featured 3D voxels instead of 2D sprites, usable inventory items, and violent head slicing katanas, Uzi's and many more to make this a bloody fine game! - The sequel is good too.

Can't wait this :) One of my favorites. I have noticed that Vampire is about a 1/4 faster than my 060 66, so hopefully this is playable.

Stuff like this makes me hunger for a CD32 Vampire :/

where can i download this port? and where can i download duke3d port?

About the Porting Duke Nukem 3D HERE find AmigaDuke 3D, while HERE AmiDuke AGA.

For Shadow Warrior I do not know if it has been completed and where you can download, on Youtube there is also a nice video.

Just want to say that Shadow Warrior is one of the greatest FPS games I ever played. I played it again recently and it's still a freaking awesome game.

honx 14 September 2016 07:31

thanks, i tried both. funny fact is, amiduke aga seems to look much better thanthe other port with rtg support.
so i'll stick with amiduke aga, because no fpu is needed. also the other one says "fpu needed" if i emulate a 040.
68040 with jit disabled should have fpu integrated. but the port doesn't seem to recognize it. that's strange. :D
another good thing of no fpu requirement: i can activate jit. unfortunately none of the ports supports music. :(

Is the music does not seem to be supported by known motors, in THIS video you hear the music, but I do not know if it's outside music, do not understand English

honx 14 September 2016 14:03

it's the duke nukem music. but it seems a soundcard (prisma megamix) is required for playing music in amiduke.
and this soundtrack has to be ripped to .ogg format using a topend roland sc-55 thingymajiggy, whatever it is.
for sure nothing normal user would have standing around. it sounds expensive. why no ahi sound like in rott port?

edit: this prisma megamix thingy is getting funnier: you need a non existing soundcard not available for purchase
in order to get some working ingame music for duke nukem 3d. seriously. how are we supposed to manage that?

AMIGASYSTEM 14 September 2016 15:09

Should be asked to Toni if you can emulate :D

It exists, at least... :D
Could you ever buy one of these? Why the library and no AHI driver?

Tony implementing it? Fat chance!

this should be a real problem.... you save the tracks as music files, and that's it.

because I just downloaded a direct 3d PC port here
http://www.jonof.id.au/jfsw

and in preferences there is part where you can choose MIDI device for music

however there is no music here I Just downloaded the full game from emuparadise

Belgarath 15 September 2016 19:14

It's nice to see Modern Vintage Gamer back in action :)

Shatterhand 16 September 2016 00:28

Well, people already confirmed it. But I was 100% sure too, I bought this original when it first came out. Which is something I haven't done a lot in my life, teehee :D

You could play it without the CD without using any crack at all, but then you had no music :)
