Virtual Memory
Hi,
First; Thread can be wrong :D Can I play WHDLoad games with virtual memory on Standard Amiga 1200 (2 MB Chip & 0 MB Fast RAM) and if this is possible which program? Config: A1200 3.0 Rom GVP A1230 (RAMs don't work) 4 GB IDE HD 32X IDE CD-ROM Thanks... |
I have no idea if it will fool WHDLoad, but....
Back in the days when I used to know every single Amiga app ever to grace Aminet, there was a program called VMM. I recall this being the best (back then). I have no idea if it's been superseeded with something better The above program requires an MMU to simulate the virtual memory. You have an 030 accelerator so it's very possible that you have an MMU, but check first As I was browsing Aminet right now, I found Virtual Mem which says Smart virtual memory (requires no MMU). You can try that, although I don't think it will work since virtual memory simulation usually requires an MMU, although theoretically, it doesn't (and this was proven in the excellent Amiga program Imagestudio) Hope that helps ya mate :) |
Thanks
Hey, thanks for quick reply Amigaboy :D
I will try Virtual Mem. |
