Has anyone got Jesus On E's to work

Has anyone got Jesus On E's to work on Winuae or WinFellow.

When trying to run this in the latest WinFellow and WinUAE8.14r3 it runs too slow. The music plays at the wrong speed.

When running the demo in WinUAE8.16 r1 - r4 it just makes a loud hiss sound.

There are two versions of this excellent demo. The original and a fixed copy.

Go to Aminet and download that to see if it works.

Amiga1992 02 July 2001 17:51

You wont get the sync right, it's not a fault of the demo really. The fixed version makes it possible for us non-OCS/ks1.3 users to be able to enjoy it completely (after like, 10 minutes, it crashes in the unfixed version), but it still will not work fine on the emu, as far as I know.

Khephren 02 July 2001 18:04

You can download it as an AVI animation on some web sites...obviously I ain't got a clue what web site, but I remember a post from Pazza/ex-LSD on another message board somewhere.

Thanks for Replies

Thanks everyone for reply:)

I will stick with watching this 35 mins demo on my amiga 600HD.

The files RCK suggested are a bit to big to download on my 56k modem. Thanks anyway.

Amiga1992 02 July 2001 20:34

Hey Paul,

I've got an A600HD myself, and the vesion I dloaded of Jesus on Es just fucked up after 10 minutes. I suppose teh fixed version should make this a thing of the past, but I haven't checked.

If you don't get a guru after 10 or so minutes of watching, lemme know where you got the file, so I give it a lookie.

Khephren 02 July 2001 20:59

You could also try the hard disk installer from WHDLoad

Amiga1992 02 July 2001 22:43

Good idea ;)

Paul 03 July 2001 13:21

Akira

I got my version when I went round to someone’s house 7 years ago, who owned an A500, which I diskcopied. He said he got it from a mag on holiday.

This version works fine except for the end credits. At this point all I get is a black screen with end tune.

Paul 21 September 2001 11:39

Jesus On E's seems to Work fine with the new Winuae 17r1.

The music now plays at the right speed. The whdload install recomended.

Paul 27 September 2001 11:39

I have now ran the whole demo with no problems to the end titles on my Win98 1st Edition PII 450 with 256MB RAM.

On my AMD1000, Every time I run whdload version of this demo with winuae17r3 I get this message.

Edit: I removed pic as it is no longer needed

Jim 19 December 2001 22:05

I was very dissapointed with Jesus On E's performance under both WinUAE & WinFellow. I'm gonna have to get my old A500 booted up to enjoy it as it's meant.

Ian 19 December 2001 22:25

The ADF version runs fine, use that. I have just sat through the whole thing without any problems.

If you want, Paul, I can upload my fully tested and working version to the zone for you, but I suspect you already have it;)

Paul 20 December 2001 10:58

I am such a stupid idiot.........I'm just getting over the flu, well that’s my excuse.:D

I had winuae set to AGA, when I set winuae to Full ECS in full screen mode, the whdload version ran without fault.

Wow, no choppy sound:eek

oldpx 20 December 2001 14:45

After trying to bear this demo for about twenty seconds I gave up. What's so special about it? Getting bombarded by ugly visuals with ugly music in an endless loop is not cool. I think it's horrible !!!

And it runs well on winuae :)

Ian 20 December 2001 18:46

I found myself wondering that too Burseg, what a load of crap, and I watched all 15+ minutes of it (well for the last ten minutes I was doing something else, probably watching paint dry;))

I highly recommend this demo, if your an insomniac that is;)

Amiga1992 20 December 2001 20:14

Me too. I watched it until it crashed (around 15 minutes after being loaded), and I havent found anything to make it worthwile of the hype around it.

<mag_review_mode = on>
Ugly visuals and corny music, make this a demo to be forgotten. 1/5
<mag_review_mode = off>

Ian 20 December 2001 20:42

Good review Akira, but I feel your being to generous:D
