Any news about Raiden? Has anybody the sources to recompile this game?

killergorilla 01 September 2005 22:57

Well a demo was "uncovered" and is still available here:

http://redblade.freeshell.org/files/amigarare/

not sure about the full game though!

Thought I'd make this a bit easier, for our "plug-and-play Amiga guys" :p :D
FFS-formatted ADF (i. e. will not work on A500, and that is purpose, as it needs AGA!) is now in the zone.
Bloody hard, plasmatron has a point. :shocked

[edit] ... and CodyJarrett of HOL and APoV fame, aka Grand Master of Screenshots [tm] has now created a shiny new HOL entry to the pleasure of all! :great

Hmm...

seems the one you uploaded to the zone has an error, whenever I try and open the zip with winrar I get unexpected end of archive errors and the crc is 000000.

andreas 22 September 2005 03:28

BLAH ... maybe I really should not upload archives to the zone when my inet connection is struggling from 90% load :p

Re-upped - should work fine now. Apologies and thanks for the report! :)

(ehmm...and no need to requote my whole post ... afraid of Quick Reply? ;))

redblade 22 September 2005 11:15

Wasn't this Raiden Demo sourced from a coverdisk? Why can't we just point a link to the coverdisk because shouldn't it be in TOSEC.

Come on Galahad provide us with the Source code :)

_ThEcRoW 31 October 2005 03:19

Could anyone post the game again in the zone?

redblade 01 November 2005 10:19

the lzx file is in the url mentioned above in post #22

andreas 06 November 2005 01:13

ThEcRoW appears to mean the ADF version.
In the zone.

S. Campbell 09 May 2006 13:12

Did nothing come of this, then? It would have been nice to include it in the definitive guide to Raiden I'm writing for next month's Retro Gamer. (Also, does anyone have the ADF file of the demo uploaded anywhere? It's long gone from The Zone.)

CodyJarrett 09 May 2006 13:57

I've reuploaded it to the Zone.

andreas 09 May 2006 15:25

@S. Campbell
Galahad might be able to help to track him down again, as Cheops mailed to him back in 2004, so he should have Cheops' e-mail address...only a stab in the dark, but better one than none...
Sometimes I'd really curse the "members get auto-unregistered if not posting for a certain while" EAB "feature".

S. Campbell 09 May 2006 17:59

Cheers, I'll try dropping him a line.

andreas 30 May 2006 14:37

any news? :rolleyes

S. Campbell 05 June 2006 11:56

Nope, no luck with an address.

Antiriad 05 June 2006 21:58

Judging by the HOL entry this would have been a fantastic release. Any chance of Whd of this demo some point anyone?

Ultron 06 June 2006 21:15

"I sent something to Galahad"

Famous last words.

andreas 07 June 2006 17:29

lol :crazy
I would love to say something now, but I mustn't :laughing

Galahad/FLT 08 June 2006 00:01

I cannot get a hold of Ady, so unless he comes back, then Raiden is a dead one. If someone does get a hold of him, prod him about Pitfall as he was the coder for that one as well.

mikey 27 June 2006 23:14

Don't know if anyone has seen this months retrogamer.
It has an article about all the different versions of Raiden for each system. It mentions the Amiga version being complete and the author is looking for the game. Might be worth checking out at the retrogamer forum.
