I did some graphics for this small demo.

Fort Apocalypse with Beers ;)
Looks nice.
Do you plan a 512Kb Chip Ram version ?

nobody 02 November 2017 19:06

Alphaone is doing the game. I just updated the graphics. One of the first versions that he send me was running with 512k+512k but had the old graphics.

Nice work guys :great

Galahad/FLT 02 November 2017 22:53

I'm honoured I got a name check, just happy something I said kickstarted maybe the start of something.

The game is hard as hell, but its a great start :great

Alpha One 03 November 2017 05:42

Ahh the game is not sooo hard if you play a bit and get familiar with the steering.
Atm I keep on creating new levels, a scoring system and maybe levelpasscodes. I must say that programming some kind of game is really fun and a nice job variation from doing sinescrolls and 3D stars. ;-)

Great job Alpha One.

Btw, a trainer would be nice too. ;)

modrobert 03 November 2017 10:30

Love the game, great fun. Got that "space taxi" feel to it, and a bit of "fort apocalypse". :great

I'm still struggling with level 3, but finally realized how to get through now.

Tips:

* The copter stops declining altitude when holding left or right direction constant on the joystick, this makes it easier to navigate through the horizontal narrow passages (eg. down to the left on level 2).

* Don't hold joystick down when descending, let the copter go into autorotation downwards to save alco.

Looks Good :great

Short update, game is nearly finished.. .sadly my spare time gets fewer and fewer... hope to get it finished during the next days. Greets!

DamienD 17 May 2018 16:36

Awesome stuff Alpha One :great

...can't wait for the final version ;)

Amigajay 17 May 2018 16:59

Looks really good!

Amiga1992 17 May 2018 17:29

Looking forward, even though the demo is insanely hard!
I hope you can find a bit more balance in the level design. Level 2 on the demo is just really frustrating.

That sounds like a vast improvement! Especially for lame players like me ;)

Crown 18 May 2018 09:23

Great work mate.

I'll surely need a Flashtro trainer for that one. ;)

DamienD 04 June 2018 12:05

The game has now been released, see this thread: New Game: Alco-Copter v1.0 ;)

+1 !

I managed to finish the first level, and almost the second.. but guess i have now passed the age where i still had enough patience for such "sensible" games :laughing

I found out that my Xbox one gamepad works well on my PC with winUAE :p
