I started modelling an Amiga 500 in Maya and was wondering if any of you that still have the beast could take some hires photos and some measurements?

This is what I got so far.

You can see my other work here: http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=33956

Nice pictures, so you just need to adjust the logo (as the 500 dont say 500 as the plus version do) (This picture is not mine)

Excellent photos! Just what I need... so was the logo the only visible difference between the 500 and 500+?

Chain 26 March 2008 23:53

logo and sticker at the bottom are only two visible differencies

Ok, thanks Chain.

I started some rough blocking out of the diskdrive etc.

Dizzy 27 March 2008 02:52

nice :D

NLS 27 March 2008 07:51

nice

the edges are a bit too "edgy" (and shows even more on the buttons)

you probably already know

Yeah I know they are too sharp, I'm justing blocking out and get the proportions right first... detailiing comes later.

Here's some more progress.

Shoonay 28 March 2008 00:56

Looks promising, can't wait for the next (final? ;)) version! :)

ppill 28 March 2008 08:43

Looking good bLAZER (really good in fact)! Maybe try making it a bit thicker for a more authentic feel.

NLS 28 March 2008 12:45

ru sure this is A500?

looks like A1200 :)

bLAZER 28 March 2008 17:50

5h00n4y, I can assure you that the next version won't be the final... unless I wait 2 months before I post it :p

ppill, yeah I think it looks a bit thin aswell, but when I looked at reference photos I couldn't find anything wrong... might be the camera angle... I'll have it in mind though.

NLS, A1200? How come... yeah, they have the same keyboard...

It was indeed too thin - now the proportions are much better.

Update, redid the keys.

Shoonay 02 April 2008 01:31

Looks much much better, tho the cursor keys still look kinda different :/
Not to mention [Return] ;)

---=== EDITED ===---
Did you count the number of those detailed "cut-in's" on the back of the Amy and reconstructed those? ;)

Graham Humphrey 02 April 2008 01:32

Looks very nice so far (apart from the Return key) ;)

Zetr0 02 April 2008 01:57

@bLAZER

as always..... truly inspiring!

killergorilla 02 April 2008 02:24

Looks really good.

I'm sure the distance between the front and the space bar was bigger, and the thing was more rounded.

bLAZER 02 April 2008 20:27

Thanks dudes!

Killergorilla, then space between the space bar and the front match up my reference images fine... and yes, everything (except the keys) are at this moment razor sharp and should be rounded later.
