this 'song' mod sounds so familiar to me, although i am sure, i have listened to a different version of it back then. can anyone id it, please?

I think this is very old module (1987?), used in some crack intros, I'm sure someone will recognize title.

Game that old and using Soundtracker, pretty sure it will be Karsten Obarski

The Crystal Hammer tune was indeed composed by Karsten Obarski.

@stingray: i was referring to the song.mod of course ;)

but galahad is right, the mod is indeed by karsten and is called iridon. although i never heard of that game before. need to check this out.

i need to correct myself. actually this is not game music, but a crack intro mod for iridon. see here.

well maybe the iridon tune was first and karsten later on decided to reuse it for crystal hammer :)

anyway, both versions are awesome.
