making workbench 3.5 look pretty
Ok so I managed to get a copy of workbench 3.5 off my friend. His amiga died a while back and I figured I would put his 3.5 to some use. I downloaded clasicwb 3.5 but I don't know what screen resolution to put it in to nake it look good on my lcd monitor. I have the ecs scan doubler installed in my 600 right now. I like the way the 620X512 looks but I don't like the interlaced effect. Is there a way to either get rid of the interlacing or is there a resolution that will work just as good and give me the same or better space.

I completely misunderstood what OP was asking, but I'll leave the second half still as the things I touch on are still things Im interested to know. That said and done though Id be interested to hear what sort of screenmodes are available to those lucky people who have an lcd monitor that can handle 15khz signals over vga? Is it a strictly 15khz, or will some of the more "obscure" frequencies also work (ergo some extra higher res modes), and if so will they flicker? Ultimately I guess Im wondering if they remove the need something like an indivision aga? |
Use DBLPal/DBLNTSC screenmodes for non-flicker display. Move them to devs:monitors

I want to keep 16 colours on the desktop. I mainly just want to get rid of the interlaced look.

Four colour modes only would be a worthwhile sacrifice to get rid of the interlaced look, IMO. ;)

So interlaced is just something I am gonna have to live with then if I want the resolution I like. Oh well never mind atleast it looks better and I have workbench 3.5 now. :)
