genesis library problem
 

hi,
i cant start genesis config in Program drawer, it says "cannot open "resource.library", version 1 unable to run "GenesisWizard"

resource.library appears to be a 3.9 library ?!

what is the solution to get classic wb online ?

That is a bug. Install BB1, there is a new genesis prefs inside.

isn't classiwb based on wb 3.1+scalos? i will be able to install boingbag update 1 ?!

ClassicWB is an AmigaOS setup for emulators, similar to AIAB or AmiKit but not so overloaded with features.

About the problem: I don't know if Genesis is part of ClassicWB, but I doubt it. When running on WinUAE Genesis is of no use, because WinUAE cannot access the network card. You have to use WinUAE's built-in TCP/IP stack. Just enable bsdsocket emulation in the config.

When running on a real Amiga, do not use the OS3.9 version of Genesis. As you can see, it does not work on OS3.1. Install the MUI version of Genesis from Aminet (search for gendemo to find it quickly). Replace genesiskey.library by the one from the OS3.9 CD to unlock the full version.

Regarding problems with the os3.9 version of resource.library, I have similar problem after installing ImageFX v4 and some other problems.
My system with os3.9 (BB1 and BB2 installed) no longer works correctly, Amidock doesn't work anymore, and the vast majority of os 3.9 own apps.
How could I fix this problem ? I think I'm going nuts soon.. :-(

Do not install any part of ClassAct on top of OS3.9. OS3.9 comes with ReAction, which is the successor of ClassAct. If you install ClassAct on OS3.9 you actually downgrade and programs needing ReAction no longer work. Recource.library initializes ReAction and fails to open if any part of ReAction does not have the right version.

To fix it, copy all files in the Classes directory from the OS3.9 CD to your HDD. Make sure there are no .class, .gadget and .image files in the Libs directory. After that you have to reinstall Boingbag 1 and 2 to get the latest versions back.

I'll have to follow your advice and test it, but how do I get ImageFX to work after that, has to be seen..?!

Does the 3.9 Version of Genesis have any advantages / bugfixes / improvements compared to the gendemo104.lha from AmiNet?
