I´m pretty sure it´ll work on 2 MB machines, but too slow I´m afraid.

Yeah, gimme a shout out. Thanks a lot. :)

Get and pay a skilled programmer. ;)

Would be cool if you´d support the project: you can still use an emulator or upgrade your A500!

Hum... Well I am a coder by trade but I already have my own projects to work on. But still this has me wondering: is the BackBone AMOS source code available? And is the end result compiled or interpreted?
If it is interpreted we could at least try to write a very basic AMOS compiler. If the AMOS program is already compiled well, tough luck.

(Ignorance disclosure: I know GFA BASIC can be compiled but I have no idea about AMOS.)

I hope so ;) slowness might be OK, IIRC there are some backbone games that are a little clunky but perfectly playable on a stock CD32. I probably should have mentioned that I'm totally up for beta testing it too. I'll give you a shout out sometime.

AMOS Pro programs can definitely be compiled. In the original (and way ancient) AMOS Basic I think they could theoretically be compiled, but I never compiled my early stuff - I ended up using the RAMOS runtime which essentially just interpreted the code.

I have played a few Backbone games before and I believe they are compiled, but I am certainly no Backbone expert.

Don't conk out, guys! ;)
The sooner the pre-orders are complete, the sooner the work on ToGII can start!

:great

@ReadOnlyCat

If i correctly remember, Backbones creator was interviewed quite recently only, and in that interview it was mentioned that he doesnt know whereaoubts of backbones sourcecode anymore.

How about doing a limited run of the Soundtrack on a CD in a nice jewel case with maybe some bonus tracks? :)
Maybe even a combination of both Gorluth 1 and 2 if there is room for it.

Nice idea.
I´ll continue this pre-oder project, though due to various reasons.

E.g. I can´t include ToGI due to gfx license burdens...

So, only 50 more needed for the project to kick off??

Please, PLEASE check it out and pre-order if you've not already done so!! The Amiga is screaming for a great new game like this. :bowdown

The Hermes CD32 expansion will eventually arrive so it is fine if the game is slow on CD32 as long as ... well ... it runs at all on that machine. ;)

Oh, I previously assumed your previous reply meant that there would not be a CD32 version because it would be too slow.
Just to be sure, you confirm the game will also boot and run on a CD32 (even if slowly if no Fast RAM is present)?

If so, then you have one more customer. ;)

I guess you mean the graphic artist insists to obtain royalties for any copy produced?
This seems fair enough. I would not mind paying a bit more if there was also a version of TOGL2 which included the first one as well.

viddi 15 August 2015 23:47

First of all, I checked an A600 with 2 MB + Fast and it´s working fine. Speed is reasonable.
I can´t promise that it´ll work on vanilla 2 MB machines (CD32, A1200), but yes it is my target machine to avoid crashes.
It will be slow, though. Please keep that in mind. ;)

Regarding to ToGI:
I licensed the gfx from FDG Entertainment lately.
I didn´t expect that ToG would become a commercial release,... I just used some gfx for a hobby project.

I had to ask for permission quickly and so I was able to release the two batches you all know...

viddi 17 August 2015 14:29

Final sprint, guys! Get one of the last Gold Supporter copies, now! :)
