Retro Rant - Gaming Review Youtube Channel

Hello fine people,

I though I would create a thread on my YT channel, for updates and discussion.

This is a channel that deals with retro games on several platforms but mainly focusing on Amiga and Amstrad CPC, covering modern retro games, obscure games that deserve more love, the occasional stinker (gotta love these) as well as my own (usually negative) opinions on games considered to be classics.

I have 18 episodes already, with the most recent one being a review and playguide for the Amiga port of Elite! Enjoy!

For the latest episode we have Orion Prime. A spoiler-free review of this impressive 2009 point'n'click adventure game for the good, old Amstrad CPC. A masterpiece or a missed opportunity? Check out this episode and find out!

In this episode we shall be taking a look at Apprentice, a rather obscure platformer, released by Rainbow Arts in 1990 for the Commodore Amiga. A hidden gem or a game better left untouched?

For the latest episode we have an Amstrad CPC game from 1985, Airwolf, famous for its ridiculous difficulty level. Does it deserve its notoriety?

New Retro Rant episode dealing with the Atari ST version of Addams' Family. Was it truly better than the Amiga version?

It does. I had it in a compilation of games. Loved the TV show.
Spent many tries dying just to deal with the stuff with the two pillars on the left. I think I never managed to go further than the part at the bottom. I gave up. I might have some back a few times to give a try again but quickly gave up each time.
I have not even bothered since then to try and find a trained version to check further and see the ending.

You are in for a treat if you do, since the game gracefully crashes when you reach the final screen. >_<

:) Genius stuff. I guess playtesters/quality assurance (if there were any) never managed to reach that point and therefore it was never reported.

My uneducated guess is (judging from the 1st screen of the game-and any screen whatsoever) that no playtesting/QA took place-they just smoothly decided that the Airwolf license will sell anyway. And, shock horror, it did.

Ah, those were the times....

After the June Leaderboard challenge, it should come as no surprise that I chose Paperboy on the Amiga for the next review. A decent coin-op conversion for the miggy or the usual lazy money-grabbing affair?

For this episode we take a look at Shadows of Sergoth, a 2018 dungeon crawler for the Amstrad CPC. Do we finally get a decent RPG for the 8-bits?

This time we will be reviewing Simon the Sorcerer, which is considered one of the best point'n'click adventure games on the Amiga. Is it truly?

Subbed! I see some really good content there, Diablo in 68K Amiga, comparison between DOS/OCS/ST/AGA, keep up the good work, Seiya!

Great stuff, Amiga/ST/DOS comparisons would be sweet as well, since you seem to like such comparisons, a kind of "battle of the ports". I have only reviewed the Atari ST port of Addams' family so far and compared to the Amiga, but have showed no footage of the Amiga.

i tried yesterday with PGA European Tour, one for OCS and one for AGA. nice thing review, play and comment a game.
For comparison i have to be inspired. in this summer hot days, not to much

Good job, I watched both with YT's auto translate feature, so even non-italian speaking viewers can enjoy your videos!
