Putty Squad ????

I was at a friend some weeks ago and we played Super Putty CD32. Today I downloaded the Putty Squad Demo and what´s that ??? The levels seem to be the exact same ?? May it be that Putty Squad was never released to bring it for the CD32 with a different name ??? Shame my friend is on holiday, so I cannot clearly compare, does anyone got any screenshot of the CD32 version of Super Putty ??????

Any follow up

I have completed the eight level demo, it has taken me about six months.
Does it or doesn't it exist, the saga of Putty Squad lives on.:laughing

Putty Squad previews/reviews

Hi,

Amiga Power previewed this in issue 40 with a couple of screenshots.
I know it was reviewed later in a couple of mags.
Maybe you can compile a list of all the sightings of this game in the various mags.
I can confirm AP40 (August '94) Preview.

Good luck in your search.

BTW anyone know what happened to the review copies?

cd32 iso file found

Retroman, I have found the .iso file for the cd32 version of super putty, I am not sure what can be done with it apart from looking at it and wishing I had purchased a cd32 all those years ago. If anyone wants it I can forward it to them.

Marky Boy, the issue you mention is where the demo I completeed came from.

The game was released by Alive Mediasoft in 98 ?, but it appears the company went tits up.
Before or after it was available commercially, I do not know.

The search continues..............

The Augustu 94 issue of The One has a review of Putty Squad, and it says "Out in September" ...

Dunno if you guys (or Akira for that matter) are interested, but I have Putty Squad for SNES .....

Drake1009 21 October 2001 11:50

I'd like to see the putty squad for SNES at any rate.

Hmmm, the CD32 isos I know aren´t very big in size (for example the Elite2-Frontier iso was 400KB :D) any chance it fits to THE ZONE ?

Drake1009 21 October 2001 17:06

Even if it exceeds the limit size of a file it could be split right?

But if it's larger than 10 MB (Probably a lower limit) I'd say RCK should at least give his approval first right?

RCK 21 October 2001 19:01

No problem for me guys, you can upload what you want there.
The 3 days auto kill limit was done for that.

Mark 21 October 2001 19:09

I'm about to upload the iso

I hope this is of use to someone, unfortunately as far as I know I can't do anything with it ?

Frog 21 October 2001 20:16

You can use it with the WHDLoad install for Putty.

If you own a real amiga, you can also use the CD32emul from Idefix package. I think there's some others CD32emul on amiga but I've no idea if they run on UAE.

Ian 21 October 2001 20:26

I have uploaded a CD32 emulator into the zone, maybe it'll work with the iso:)

I haven't tried this emulator? so I don't know if it works.

Theres one way you can find out;)

BTW it's an ADF NOT a PC based emulator

RetroMan 21 October 2001 22:28

@Ian

That Emu you uploaded (CD³²) is in fact the version that comes with CacheCDFS, I know cause I got it installed on my real A1200 :D just wanted you to know ;)

Drake1009 21 October 2001 22:30

Is there a way to emulate a CD-drive on the Amiga from an ISO file? Sort of like Daemontools for the PC?

I don't have a CD drive for my Amiga but I'd like to try this game out. Is it at all possible? Or could WinUAE do it? Or does someone know how to copy CD32 games to HD and could do so? Like for example the game Humans where the CD32 version was copied?

Try MountISO.lha from Aminet, I never tried, cause my A1200 got a CDROM Drive ;) but this *should* do the trick :)

Paul 22 October 2001 20:14

I tried to create a CD from the ISO image, which was successful, and have uploaded the files from the CD into the zone.

Only problem is I still was not able to get the game to run in WinUAE. It was worth a try anyway.

If anyone can get this game to run please could you attach the config or patch.

RetroMan 23 October 2001 01:06

Just wait for Toni to release his unofficial WinUAE-CD³²-Version :D:D:D

Mark 23 October 2001 08:10

The demo of Putty squad was AGA and does not run under emulation, I'll transfer all the files to my miggy 1200 and give it a go.
I'll let you know how I got on later.

Shatterhand 23 October 2001 08:28

I've just uploaded SNES' Putty Squad into the zone :)
