Aros (Icaros 2.3.3) installation problem
I have an HP Elitebook 2540P that I don't use for anything right now. Getting a bit slow for Win10 so I Dbanned it and booted Icaros live.
InstallAROS launches a partition dialog, which I filled thusly: IMAGE Installer then tells me that partitions have been created, please reboot and re-launch installer. I restart, run the installer and select to use existing Aros partitions. Installation runs for a while, then tells me the drive is in an unreadable format. HDToolbox shows me the following: IMAGE So the installer created a 7.8Gb partition, and now the partition table is somehow 'unknown'. And after I set it to 'RDB', the toolbox claims success. But the table still remains 'unknown' when I check it again... Any ideas? I'd believe it's a bad drive, but Windows never gave any grief, checkdisk showed no errors on last check and DBAN finished without errors. |
You do not need to use HDToolbox, you have to use only InstallAROS
To Install AROS These are the steps to do: Premise: - Use an HD or a RAW (unallocated) partition (no MBR, RDB, etc ..) - Use PC/Linux program to create RAW partition (unallocated) - If a partition with Windows is present, it will ignore this partition and use only the RAW one by creating Dual Boot - If you do not have any RAW partition, AROS will take the first partition or whole HD Installation: - Start AROS CD/DVD - Start InstallAROS - To choose Wipe Disk (this will initialize allocated Disk or partition if available) - Reboot - Start InstallAROS - To choose Use existing AROS Partition - If you are not an expert, do not create partitions (DH1, DH2 etc) - To choose your Device - Proceed with the installation I enclose some of my old exhaustive videos VMware Player IcarOS 2.0 installation on Pendrive: https://youtu.be/2-DgR3ieYYI Install AROS USB External Hard Disk: https://youtu.be/kvI9g4tHZAA |
