A500 lockup - please help

I've got an A500 a few days ago along with some expansions: an 590 HD controller+550mb scsi drive and a Stormbringer H530 turbo board (030@50mhz + 882@50mhz).

They both work flawlessly ALONE, but not together. :(

On the A590 there's no RAM expansion, the jumper is set to the 'Amnesia' position, on the turbo board there's 8mb of memory. The A500 is a rev6A with 1MB chip ram.

If I plug them both in, the OS crashes within a few seconds with Guru Meditation 8000:0003.

What could be the problem? I think it's related to the memory, but if I disable the '030 with a jumper it works. (disabling the processor does not disable the memory expansion on this board)

Give me some ideas please, I can't get it to work...

(sorry for bad english, I'm hungarian and there's no real amiga community here, no place to ask)

Perhaps it is a problem of zorro adressing, like said on this page : http://www.amiga-hardware.com/h530.html ?

The problem remains, the only effect of this jumper is that I can use the expansion memory if it is set in the autoconfig position. In the other position the computer only sees the 1MB chip ram and I got a Guru like before.

There's a jumper on the HD controller:

JP4
1 = Interrupt 2
2 = Interrupt 6
Note: Do Not Change

I did not try this, can I fry my HW changeing this? Can this be an IRQ problem?

Na IRQ is PC only. :laughing However, it is likely that the accelerator and the A590 are incompatible. I have a GVP Series II SCSI and mem unit and I had an 020 card which wouldn't work with it as they both wanted to be mastering the bus... Since you say they work fine individualy, I'd say that's your problem right there. :mad Have to decide which you want most...

I buyed them from a guy who used them together. :(

And as I said if I disable the '030 on the accelerator everything works fine. :confused:

have you checked if the 030 is correctly plugged ? is its card clean ?
same questions for the a590 ...

Exi 28 July 2003 09:48

Both are a little dusty. I'll try to clean them. Thanks for the idea.

Sorry, misunderstood. Me stoopid :D
