Downloadable versions incomings can always help to release physical releases.

Maybe they could include that option if they need the money now.

They also could add a discount to get the cartridge or disk for people when they try the game with that future downloadable version and that want to have it afterwards.

And also, is there a demo or something to try for real before expending 45€? I know the game is great, but... you know, money costs.

was looking for the digital only option too, got 2x U1541 so need need for cart or disk. Maybe they'll add it later...

Retro-Nerd 01 October 2017 14:00

They added it indeed (gave them the info in Forum64 too).;)

Now done, proud to help them out :)

Retrofan 01 October 2017 21:58

Great, thanks Retro-Nerd. Done now. Well, it says that "Your downloads are not approved yet".

Edit: Ups, I hadn't checked my right email. I hope I'll be able to download it now.

dirkies 01 October 2017 22:38

Downloads are for December afaik. This is to finance their actual release.

Retrofan 01 October 2017 23:24

That is what I read here, but as I didn´t see anything about that in the site...

BarryB 01 October 2017 23:25

Well, I have 64 downloads left apparently, nice number is 64 :D

Attention: Although Sam's Journey can be ordered already, it will be shipped sometime in December (exact date is not yet known). Also the download will be made available in December. If you order Sam, the entire order will be postponed until Sam is available. So in case you want to receive something else earlier, please place another order.
I thought i made this clear yesterday.

This parts are important too.

Note for cartridge versions: the cartridge files are currently emulated only by Vice 3.1+. They cannot be used with an EasyFlash cartridge or 1541 Ultimate. For the disk versions, these limitations do not apply.

Important information for NTSC users: The NTSC version of Sam is only available on disk and requires a REU (any size) or a REU emulation (e.g. 1541 Ultimate or Turbo Chameleon 64).

We all know the C64 has 16 colours right? But I remember back in the day reading that there was 4 extra colours hidden< Making 20 in total < or do you think this was just tosh talk at that time?

Still cannot get over what this machine could do on just 64KB of ram!

Retro-Nerd 02 October 2017 01:21

The C64 can do much more with some tricks.

This is interesting, explains so much in relation to the colour modes etc. Thx Retro-Nerd :great

I guess the 4 extra colours was just hype for back in the day of 8Bit computing. I think the article was in a ZZAP64, if I remember correctly.< But don't hold me to that!

Many of you may have heard the names Alf Yngve and Richard Bayliss, as they were behind games such as Hover Raider RX, Flying Cobra RX, Snatch McBlagger and even Dark Force : Redux on the C64. But now as a tweet heads up, they have announced they are working on a top-secret horror game project that is once again coming to the C64, and looks to feature some pretty nasty enemies!

Petunia Pickles Pumpkin Peril - A Halloween C64 game coming from Pond Software!

Pond Software are certainly no strangers to the C64 community, especially with their very popular game The Bear Essentials having been released and liked by many. But this new game isn't going all cute and cuddly as not only will it involve lots of pumpkins, witches and bats, but it's going to be a Halloween playable demo and is going to be called ' Petunia Pickles Pumpkin Peril ' for the C64!

Cool, this is a good idea, like what I've been telling Richard about Reshoot R (allow digital preorder now, deliver "when ready").

This game looks fantastic. I think I'll have to make the effort to nab the digital ASAP so they get the financing they need.

Retrofan 26 October 2017 19:18

That noname horror game by Alf Yngve looks fantastic. I hope there will be some video anytime soon.

Yes, indeed. But I would appreciate if they could also offer a discount if you get the digital preorder supporting them and when you have it you want to buy the expensive cartridge.

Just preorder the cartridge then. It will include a digital copy.

Thanks. They have been so kind to change my order, so I will have the cartridge edition. BTW they have asked me if I want the SPANISH version of Sam's Journey (fully translated). I didn't know it was going to be made ;)

BTW, another thing. Have you heard about the ProjectSIDFX?

I've been included in the wishlist and they plan to release a batch next month.

Edit: I forgot to comment about a new game for retro platforms, including the C64: Nogalious, that is on kickstarter now:
